Payroll Manager
The Payroll Manager will oversee and supervise the organizations payroll functions, ensuring pay is processed on time, accurately, and in compliance with government regulations. Entity: University Medical Associates (UMA) Only Employees and Financials Worker Type: Employee Worker Sub-Type: Regular Cost Center: CC001945 UMA CORP FIN Finance CC Pay Rate Type: Salary Pay Grade: Health-31 Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40 Work Shift: Job Description The Payroll Manager will oversee and supervise the organizations payroll functions, ensuring pay is processed on time, accurately, and in compliance with government regulations. Implements, maintains, and reviews payroll processing systems to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions. Ensures accurate and timely processing of payroll updates including new hires, terminations, and changes to pay rates. Prepares and maintains accurate records and reports of payroll transactions. Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices. Facilitates audits by providing records and documentation to auditors. Identifies and recommends updates to payroll processing software, systems, and procedures. Manages benefit/withholding programs (employee and employer deductions). Manages Kronos timekeeping system including training and communication. Responsible for all Kronos changes and updates. Manages fiscal and calendar year processing including W-2 reconciliation and preparation, as well as, new reporting requirements of the Affordable Care Act. Manages general ledger account maintenance including payment of various benefit invoices and all reporting of expenses to the departments through the Business Intelligence link. Functions as liaison with all software providers and troubleshooting of issues that arise with new systems. Serves as payroll representative on MUSC Health committees/projects. Other special projects and duties as assigned. Performs other duties as assigned.
