Machine Shop Technician

Basic Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED equivalency. 3 years machine shop experience Ability and willingness to use basic hand tools and measuring devices (i.e. - dial calipers, rulers, tape measures, protractors, micrometers, gauges, etc.) as required within department. Intermediate mathematical calculations involving decimals, ratios, etc. Intermediate understanding of blueprint and process sheet interpretation Prior working knowledge of machine shop operations. Essential Functions & Responsibilities: Plan sequence of operations to produce part(s). Set up and operate all manual equipment. (i.e. - lathes, drill presses, milling machines, grinders, hand tools to fabricate parts and tools, etc.) Set up and operate CNC lathes, milling machines, grinders, and EDM. Perform duties on complex prototypes or first-time builds. Compliantly troubleshoots tools, fixtures, and equipment as necessary Ensure speeds, feeds, and tooling is correct for material being processed. Perform job responsibilities according to internal process specifications and third-party requirements Frequent interaction with internal and/or external customers and support functions (i.e.

Planners, Engineering) outside of home department. Report problems to appropriate resource and/or Coach. Proactively work to improve efficiency and quality of products. Participate in and support team initiatives. Utilize proper PPE, safety equipment, and follow safety procedures per position requirements. Exemplifies and coaches' others on the GE Leadership behaviors. Other duties as be required Desired Qualifications: 3-5 years machine shop experience in a manufacturing environment Education and/or training in machine shop operations Understanding of CNC and manual machine operations Experience in a self-directed team environment Lean manufacturing knowledge

Ability to occasionally bend, stoop, twist, crouch, squat, climb, and/or balance.

Ability to continuously sit; ability to occasionally lift to 20-85 lbs (heavier items with assistance); ability to push/pull up to 22 lbs. The pay for this position is $24.70/hr. This position is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus based on a percentage of your base salary/ commission based on the plan. This posting is expected to close on 8/31/25.
