Software Engineer III

to support contract work out of

San Diego, CA . ACTIVE SECRET UP TO TOP SECRET SCI SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIRED Responsibilities: Research, development, engineering, and support of integrated C4ISR, cyber, and space systems across all domains. Analyze user needs and develop software solutions, applying principles and techniques of computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis. Develop and sustain a software development environment covering the entire Software Development Lifecycle using current methodologies including Continuous Deployment, Agile, and DevOps. Update or enhance existing software capabilities. Collaborate with other disciplines (e.g., project management, acquisition, logistics, security) to integrate hardware and software systems, develop specifications, and define performance requirements. Document and demonstrate solutions through documentation, flowcharts, diagrams, code comments, and clear coding practices. Conduct test reviews, analysis, witnessing, and certification of developed software. Monitor and manage database backups, logs, and journals; install, maintain, and upgrade database software; restore and recover data as needed. Apply knowledge of system software, computer hardware, work processes, regulations, and management practices. Demonstrate creativity and latitude as expected in the role. Use extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Participate in meetings and serve as a primary interface with the Government.

Qualifications: Active Secret clearance up to Top Secret SCI. Master's Degree in Information Technology or a closely related field from an accredited institution. Bachelor's Degree plus 4 years of relevant experience, or Associate's Degree plus 8 years of relevant experience, or 8 years of relevant work experience. Experience applying modern software development methodologies (e.g., Agile, DevOps/DevSecOps) in professional or academic settings.

Skills: Excellent oral and written communication skills. Strong critical thinking skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Willingness and ability to learn and apply project management concepts. Experience applying programming concepts in professional or academic environments.
