Must have robotic experience! Hepatobiliary, transplant, surgical oncology, or microscopic training preferred.
Shift: 4 10's. Open to hiring a Nurse Practitioner as well! Job Responsibilities
Performs first assistant duties in the OR and/or clinic, including patient positioning, preparation, draping, tissue manipulation, suturing, drain/tube insertion, wound closure, and internal device application, under the supervision of the surgeon. Performs minor surgical procedures without in-room supervision. Supports a broad range of procedures across various surgical specialties, including robotic surgeries. Collaborates and communicates effectively with the surgical team and other healthcare professionals to meet patient needs. Evaluates and treats illnesses and injuries in various clinical settings. Orders and interprets labs, imaging, and other studies; manages patient care including diagnostics, treatments, and education. Conducts comprehensive histories and physical exams, pre- and post-operative assessments, and documentation. Maintains licensure and certifications as required by state and federal regulations. Prescribes controlled substances and writes orders for patient care, documenting promptly. Utilizes clinical information systems effectively. Adheres to safety protocols, including the Universal Protocol in surgical settings. Provides call coverage and onsite patient rounding as per hospital policies. Job Qualifications
Minimum of 18 months experience as an Advanced Practice Provider in a surgical specialty or equivalent training. Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant Program or hold a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) as a Nurse Practitioner. Licensed and certified to practice in Arizona as a Physician Assistant or APRN. Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS). Application for DEA certification submitted upon hire, obtained within 90 days. Registered Nurse First Assist certification preferred for Surgical NP/APRN candidates. Minimum of 18 months of first assisting, suturing, and laparoscopic experience or equivalent training. City of Hope is an equal opportunity employer.
