Position Details
Shift:
3 x 12-hour shifts on weekends and Friday evenings The inpatient pharmacist will review and interpret medication orders, screen for therapeutic incompatibilities, and monitor drug therapy, especially chemotherapy. Responsibilities include providing drug information to physicians and clinical staff, overseeing sterile intravenous compounding, medication refilling, and unit dose preparations. The pharmacist will participate in quality improvement projects focused on patient safety and collaborate on multidisciplinary initiatives. Job Responsibilities Verify and assess all medication orders for appropriateness based on lab values, symptoms, disease states, and comorbidities. Communicate effectively with providers and clinical staff regarding medication orders or questions. Prepare and dispense sterile compounded products following USP 797 and USP 800 guidelines, supervising technician staff as needed. Participate in quality assurance programs emphasizing patient safety and regulatory compliance. Ensure safe and appropriate medication therapies based on clinical guidelines. Document all pharmacist interventions thoroughly. Job Qualifications Graduate of an ACPE-accredited School of Pharmacy (RPh or PharmD).
