The Director, Strategic Pricing leads the development and execution of the strategic pricing process across all sales channels for all product categories. In this role, the Director, Strategic Pricing will implement and optimize the business approach, processes, and pricing execution, coordinate to get alignment among business stakeholders and lead the strategic development and business optimization of the long-term portfolio margins for the defined business segments. In addition, the Director, Strategic Pricing will lead and help implement a new pricing system and strategy for the future and beyond. Essential Job Functions* Develop a data driven, fact-based approach to pricing and margin management, by deploying the right set of pricing strategies, analytics, technology, and processes Lead the required transformation efforts to create a value pricing and value selling culture. Lead and coordinate the collaboration of key internal stakeholders to maximize profitability and anticipate market changes, as well as improve approach to pricing in segmentation, market insights, specific customer requirements and added value service. Support customer negotiations for contracting discussions; keep track of cost and price in various markets regionally, domestically, and globally and drive teams to proactive selling and margin optimization. Develop, deploy, and manage strategic pricing reporting and analytics. Optimize the margin structure to ensure the financial business objectives as well as specific customer and market targets are met. Lead and develop the execution of evolving pricing strategies and improve sustainable profitability by the establishment of a partnership with various internal product line, sales, marketing, and finance functions. Develop and implement continuous improvement of the strategic pricing processes to include tasks like improve quality and delivery efficiency, optimize connection with adjacent commercial processes and coordinate activities across markets regionally domestically and globally. Provide strategic leadership, development and talent management activities for direct reports and their organizations, which may include forecasting resource needs, recruiting, hiring, performance management, training, and budgeting. Design and implement the future pricing system for all Hillman segments ensuring state of the art pricing systems and competitive pricing performance. * This job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee. Education & Experience BS/BA and 8 years’ experience or related work experience. MBA or master degree preferred Competencies – Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Experience in leading the transformation of business unit’s pricing function across regional, domestic, and global market. Advanced financial knowledge of profit and loss, margin and price decision making. Analytical proficiency to derive insights from large and highly complex sets of business data. Experience in project and change management. Operational Equipment N/A Work Environment and Physical Demands Work Environment Office: Office setting. Seldom exposed to fumes or airborne particles.
