Position Summary Oversees the management and facilitates production, projects, and quality within Customer IPS engagements. Ensures Customer’s expectations are met by managing activities and complying with contractual obligations. Provides on-site support, training, and communication to contracted facilities sterile processing department management and personnel. Ensures SPD compliance with the Department of Health, JC, OSHA, CDC, AAMI, and AORN standards and facility policies and procedures. 100% domestic travel required.

Duties Leadership

Develop and manage an engaged team to provide excellent day-to-day service that meets the Customer’s needs and contractual obligations.

Focus on continuous improvement, engaging and coaching team members.

Interview, hire, assist with training, coach, and discipline employees to meet company objectives and Customer requirements.

Build and maintain a culture of Employee Engagement and Retention through regular communication and ongoing training.

Utilize staffing tools and communicate to Customer the appropriate staff mix, aligning staff with demand.

Customers

Ensure delivery of Customer Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and conduct regular meetings to review quality metrics.

Mentor front-line leadership in building relationships with Customer service line coordinators.

Develop higher-level relationships within the Customer organization, including OR Managers, Directors, & V.P.s, managing Customer expectations within scope.

Resolve client issues promptly and effectively.

Understand the contract(s) thoroughly and educate/train Customer leadership on contracted services.

Operations/Processes

Understand and implement STERIS standard processes, holding the team accountable.

Ensure all operational processes comply with relevant standards and policies.

Maintain accuracy and completeness of administrative documents and functions.

Manage an operating budget, understanding financial impacts of decisions.

Use STERIS tools to identify deficiencies and create Corrective Action Plans for improvement.

Required Experience

Bachelor’s degree and 3+ years of leadership experience in SPD or related field, or High School diploma with 8+ years of SPD experience and 5 years in a leadership role.

Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (4+ years).

Experience in process management and quality control (3+ years).

Active certification in sterile processing via CBSPD or HSPA, or obtain within 12 months if not certified at hire.

Valid driver’s license, vehicle insurance, and ability to operate a vehicle for travel.

Ability to travel across the US and pass background and medical standards for credentialing.

Preferred Experience

Experience with instrument tracking software and employee management systems (1+ year).

Knowledge of medical instruments (1+ year).

Knowledge of Sterile Processing, OR, and Material Management functions (1+ year).

Experience using KPI data to manage SPD department.

Skills Pay range for this opportunity is $78,500.00 - $109,987.50. This position is eligible for bonus participation.

Minimum pay rates will comply with local minimums, and pay is based on factors including experience, education, certifications, and other considerations.
