Job Description About the Role The Architect IV candidate will have the ability to execute and lead all project types through design, documentation, and construction administration as part of a multi-disciplinary team. This position encourages creativity in problem solving to promote technical and design excellence while ensuring building code and regulatory compliance. The Lead Architect coordinates with internal and external parties, manages multiple complex tasks, establishes priorities, and directs the work of others. The candidate will serve as the Architectural point of contact for clients, other disciplines, estimating, and construction personnel. Core Responsibilities Work independently on projects, executing all phases of design, including programming, planning, concept development, detailed design, and construction administration. Generate complex code analyses, life safety and egress plans, floor plans, sections, elevations, details, schedules, and specifications for large projects of advanced complexity with minimal oversight. Develop and generate studies, presentations, and reports, and present to internal or external audiences. Research and apply International Building Code and other regulatory requirements as part of the project delivery process. Collaborate closely with Engineering and Construction personnel to develop and ensure coordinated and constructible designs. Participate in drawing reviews, coordination meetings, and quality checks. Support construction activities such as RFI responses, submittal reviews, and progress reports. Assist Project Managers in resource planning, budget and scope definition, schedule adherence, and overall quality of deliverables. Conduct quality checks of documents for complex projects, including technical verification of design calculations, documentation, and approaches, to ensure overall project quality. Identify and resolve complex code, construction, or design challenges. Provide mentorship to Architectural staff. Act as Architect of Record for project assignments. Minimum Qualifications Accredited Professional Degree in Architecture (B.Arch, M.Arch, D.Arch) or equivalent. Architectural license in good standing within the home state, plus NCARB certification. Relevant experience in an Architectural, Engineering, or Construction firm. Fifteen years of professional experience. Preferred Qualifications Proficiency in Revit and Microsoft Office. Extensive knowledge of International Building Codes, OSHA Regulations, and ADA Standards. Entrepreneurial and client-focused leadership skills. Flexibility for moderate travel supporting project-based or training activities. Excellent communication and presentation skills. Successful experience in cross-discipline project coordination and execution across various project types. LEED Accreditation, WELL Certification, or similar sustainability credentials. Experience in CRB’s core markets, including R&D labs, biotechnology, pharmaceutical, food & nutrition, and consumer products, including international projects.
