Job Description
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Lead an organization with methods and actions that are ethical and in full compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and Company policies. Identify compliance risks and take actions necessary to eliminate or minimize risks. Champion, within the organization, a commitment to honesty, integrity, and responsible corporate behavior. Create a compliance culture within the organization and foster an environment where employees feel comfortable reporting potential violations or misconduct. Creating new SOPs for the department to improve service and operating efficiencies Citywide menu creation as well as setting competitive pricing strategy Creating and managing custom marketing guides to create additional EBITA opportunities Contributes to citywide screening and hiring of management personnel within the department Actively supports the VP with culinary contract negotiations All other duties as assigned by the Regional VP of catering and convention services Supervise the direct day-to-day operations of areas of responsibility through assigned Property leaders and department Directors; counseling, guiding and instructing them in the proper performance of their duties. Champions the Las Vegas City Wide approach to customer service to include meeting and banquet operations standards, menus, equipment, hiring and training. Works closely with HR team on culinary union contracts, negotiations and arbitrations. Responsible for insuring team is effectively selling food & beverage, hotel, meeting space, suite packages and function planning to maximize revenues and profits for both operations. Create annual sales plan, budget, and goals. Accountability will be measured by achieving City Wide EBITDA, Margin and Sales Goals. Works closely with Vice President of Sales and Las Vegas Property Leadership Is responsible to insure Property Leaders are maintaining the condition of the Convention Space and Back of House facility at a high standard and work with the Engineering team on all maintenance, repair and capital projects. Meets with and provides regular guidance to the Las Vegas Meetings Leaders and management team to ensure the best guest experience and safest environment possible. Maintains knowledge of competitors’ Group Sales programs and monitors their effectiveness. Makes recommendations for changes or new programs and promotional activities that will stimulate and retain new business. Maintains communications and rapport with Group guests and representatives, ensuring guest satisfaction by seeing that all facilities and services provided meet company standards. Leads a large team managing convention group bookings with a value in excess of 240million dollars in banquets per year and 400,000 total room nights, which can be contracted at all (8) Las Vegas properties, with attendance exceeding 20,000 people for the largest groups. Handles Group customer complaints and comments; follows up with appropriate department. Organizes the maintenance of prospect files, listing pertinent information. Recommends prospective Group customers for active solicitation by reviewing and updating these files. Follows up on all inquiries and leads. Responsible for all group tracking and software implementation within the Sales Department. Has strong leadership and negotiating skills with the ability to help employees within the Sales and Catering Department grow in their understanding of sales-related issues as well as their careers. Directly supports the Regional VP of Catering and Convention Services for the Las Vegas region with the following: QUALIFICATIONS: A bachelor’s degree, preferably in business, marketing or communications Experienced marketing/sales professional with a minimum of 5-10 years of experience. A proven leader who has managed within a variety of different settings and is extremely comfortable with a rapidly changing and dynamic environment Strong verbal, written, and negotiation skills required Accessible and approachable personal style that inspires the Sales and Catering team as well as front-line team members to perform with enthusiasm and maximum effort in achieving goals A motivating presence as a public speaker to both internal and external audiences is required A consummate team player able to build and develop excellent relationships with peers and functional Marketing and F&B leaders within the Region. Comfortable with multi-tasking to achieve results on several large and complex programs at the same time A proven sales/marketing track record of managing diverse groups of people to achieve significant and measurable results. PHYSICAL, MENTAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS: Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends. Must be able to speak, read, write and understand English. Must be able to tolerate areas containing secondhand smoke. Ability to maintain regular, predictable attendance according to schedule Fast paced environment, multiple tasks to be handled under time constraint. Must be able to handle a heavy business volume, and sensitive situations relating to team member, candidate, and guest problems, in a timely manner. Must be able to lift and carry 10 pounds. Must be able to bend, crouch, kneel, twist and work at a desk/counter when performing functions of the job. Respond to visual and aural cues. Must have manual dexterity to operate all office equipment. Must be able to recognize and respond to individuals with questions. Must be able to maneuver around office and property.
