This role is responsible for the technical development, testing, integration, volume, and acceptance testing of the overall Dematic solution.
This position can be located at any of our field offices throughout North America (Utah, Illinois, Ohio), with preferences for major offices in Atlanta, GA; Grand Rapids, MI; Dallas, TX; Plano, TX; or Wauwatosa, WI.

What You Will Do In This Role
Support early development activities (RFQ) to ensure product throughput targets are met. Provide technical guidance to the quote team on timing, implementation, standards, lessons learned, and project estimates for SIM functions. Develop key customer documents, including system specifications, test plans, and validation criteria. Participate in and approve design simulations to ensure they meet sold design criteria and proposals. Participate in internal and external meetings to ensure the product implementation meets customer specifications. Collaborate with internal engineering teams on design and software development. Define and agree on interfaces between components and systems—software, mechanical, controls, and product engineering. Provide onsite support during installation, offering technical guidance to ensure correct installation and commissioning. Execute and support onsite testing, including factory acceptance, system integration, throughput, and acceptance testing. Support high-volume, customer-specific testing and vendor qualification as needed. Plan and establish resource needs for onsite testing per schedule. Gain customer approval on key documents and testing plans before and after testing. Support punchlist items during installation, addressing quality and technical issues to ensure proper product operation. Manage and update the customer on project deliverables and testing responsibilities. Provide leadership and guidance to junior staff through training and development. Perform other tasks as assigned within the SIM function. What We Are Looking For:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Control Engineering; Master's or advanced degrees are a plus. 7+ years of engineering experience, preferably in the material handling industry. Strong leadership and communication skills. Proven ability to create technical documentation such as test plans and customer specifications. Customer-facing experience and good interpersonal skills. Ability to work collaboratively with geographically dispersed teams. Willingness to travel approximately 40%+ annually for project needs.
