not
a litigation role—it's for a strategic, operational attorney who’s obsessed with clean systems, air-tight contracts, and seamless legal support across departments. You’ll partner closely with leadership and cross-functional teams (especially Product, Partnerships, Ops, IT, and Compliance) to ensure legal frameworks keep pace with the company’s growth. You’ll help manage foundational legal infrastructure around contracts, compliance, data use, intellectual property, and corporate governance, helping us move fast
without
breaking things. You’ll work closely with the Chief Legal Officer, gaining exposure to a broad range of legal and business issues, while owning key day-to-day legal processes. The Business Model: We're building a modern, acquisition-driven insurance services company focused exclusively on small and mid-sized business clients (10–99 lives). Our advantage lies in our blend of AI-powered technology and human expertise, enabling a seamless, omnichannel experience for SMB clients and their employees. We’re acquiring independent agencies and investing in their teams, giving producers and servicing staff the tools to thrive. Competitive base salary DOE Schedule/commute flexibility Monthly cell phone stipend Two weeks PTO, one week paid sick leave, and 13 paid holidays Reports to the Chief Legal Officer Beautiful, central office location in Brickell area of Miami Key Responsibilities: Contract Management:
Review, analyze, and negotiate commercial and vendor contracts to ensure compliance with company policies, mitigate legal and business risks, including data privacy, indemnification, limitation of liability, and termination provisions. Product & Compliance Support:
Partner with product and engineering teams to support product launches, privacy protocols, and regulatory alignment (especially across insurance and data-related domains). Data & Privacy:
Work cross-functionally with technical and compliance teams to support legal analysis and implementation strategies concerning customer data, usage rights, and AI technologies. IP & Brand Protection:
Work with product, marketing, compliance, and legal teams to help identify and safeguard intellectual property, supporting strategy and execution around trademarks, copyrights, and patents, including reviewing IP clauses in contracts and assisting with IP workflows. Risk & Insurance:
Support internal risk mitigation policies and ensure we’re protected across liability, cyber, and E&O matters. Process Optimization:
Support legal and cross-functional teams to design and refine scalable internal workflows, templates, and systems that support a growing legal function.. Required Experience/Attributes: Must be based in Miami, Florida J.D. from an accredited law school and active bar membership in good standing Deep interest in operational, corporate, regulatory, and product law— not
a litigator 3-5 years of professional legal experience with a strong focus on in-house, startup, or tech environments Proven ability to manage contract lifecycle and cross-functional legal processes Familiarity with insurance, fintech, healthtech, or highly regulated B2B industries High attention to detail, incredible follow-through, and strong process orientation Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, constantly evolving startup environment Nice to Have: Insurance industry experience is a strong plus M&A experience Experience working with AI- or data-powered products Prior work in the insurance, SaaS, or B2B2C services space Familiarity with employment law, vendor compliance, or licensing frameworks Seniority level
