Database Marketing Analyst

Type: Contract with possible extension(s). We are looking for a talented and meticulous Senior Marketing Data Analyst to drive the creation and implementation of targeted marketing campaigns for residential and small business customers. This role focuses on converting plain-English marketing goals into SAS/SQL code to build and deliver accurate campaign populations, ensuring timely and effective data support for campaign execution. Key Responsibilities: Partner with Segment and Channel Marketing teams to collect and clarify campaign requirements. Convert business objectives into technical specifications and create campaign populations using SAS and SQL. Extract, transform, and prepare data for multi-channel marketing initiatives. Act as a bridge between marketing and data teams, facilitating smooth data transfers and resolving issues. Deliver insights on campaign populations and performance metrics. Uphold coding standards and conduct quality checks on all campaign development tasks. Assist with Power BI reporting and data transformations as required. Contribute to process optimization efforts to automate tasks and improve efficiency. Required Qualifications: 5+ years of experience in data analysis, data mining, or campaign development. Advanced proficiency in SAS and SQL (Oracle and SQL Server). Hands-on experience in Unix/AIX environments. Demonstrated ability to translate marketing needs into effective data queries. Knowledge of direct marketing, customer segmentation, and campaign management principles. Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams. Exceptional attention to detail and dedication to data accuracy. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Power BI or similar BI/reporting platforms. Familiarity with the Texas utility market, deregulated energy sector, or TX SET protocols. Proficiency with tools like TOAD for Oracle. Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field.
