RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client in Irving, TX that is seeking a Junior Cloud Engineer. As a Junior Cloud Network Engineer, you will assist in the design, implementation, and maintenance of cloud-based network infrastructures. You will work under the guidance of senior network engineers to ensure that cloud resources are provisioned, managed, and maintained efficiently and securely. This role involves collaboration with IT teams to optimize network performance, troubleshoot issues, and support the organization's cloud strategy.
Network Infrastructure Design and Implementation:
Assist in designing and implementing network infrastructure within cloud environments, including virtual private networks (VPNs), routing, and switching Support the development of cloud network solutions in collaboration with other IT teams
Monitoring and Troubleshooting:
Monitor network performance to diagnose and resolve issues promptly Participate in network maintenance activities, ensuring systems meet performance and reliability standards
Security and Compliance:
Implement and maintain security measures to protect cloud networks Work with IT security teams to adhere to compliance standards
Automation and Optimization:
Help develop automation scripts to manage network configurations and deployments Optimize cloud resources for cost-efficiency and performance
Collaboration:
Work closely with developers, operations, and security teams to align network infrastructure with organizational needs Provide technical support to internal teams and possibly external clients
Learning and Development:
Engage in continuous learning to keep up with the latest in cloud and networking technologies Participate in training sessions and learn from senior engineers
REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Network Engineering, or a related field or 3-5 years of relevant experience Certifications (preferred but not mandatory): AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner, Azure Fundamentals, or equivalent Basic understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, LAN/WAN, DNS, VPN, etc.) Experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform is highly desirable Familiarity with network hardware (routers, switches, firewalls) and software Knowledge of cloud security principles and best practices Understanding of network protocol analyzers for monitoring and troubleshooting Strong problem-solving and analytical skills Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
Note: Pay is not considered compensation until it is earned, vested and determinable. The amount and availability of any compensation remains in Kforce's sole discretion unless and until paid and may be modified in its discretion consistent with the law.
