Sweetwater, the nation's number one online retailer of music instrument and pro audio gear, is seeking a Marketplace Manager to support our marketplace growth and optimization efforts. As the Marketplace Manager, you will assist in driving the strategic vision of the marketplace division, identifying growth opportunities, contributing to technology integration initiatives, conducting in-depth data analysis, and enhancing listing optimization strategies. You will report directly to the VP of Marketplace and serve as a key partner in shaping the long-term roadmap. Job Requirements

As the Marketplace Manager, you will assist in driving the strategic vision of the marketplace division, identifying growth opportunities, contributing to technology integration initiatives, conducting in-depth data analysis, and enhancing listing optimization strategies. You will report directly to the VP of Marketplace and serve as a key partner in shaping the long-term roadmap.

Job Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Management:

Lead, organize, and guide a team to meet marketplace goals. Manage and mentor direct reports Set clear objectives, provide regular feedback, and support professional development of team members. Assist teams in solving complex problems and building scalable solutions. Streamline processes & tools to reduce operational bottlenecks.

Marketplace Growth & Strategy Support

Assist in developing & maintaining channel-specific strategies for Amazon, eBay, and Reverb to drive profitable growth. Define and execute plans to expand product assortment, increase sales, and improve market share across marketplaces. Analyze industry trends, competitor activity, and marketplace policies to inform decisions and adapt strategy. Drive product discoverability and conversion through SEO, pricing strategy, and content optimization. Partner with agency and marketplace channel contacts to inform PPC strategy using performance insights and relevant data. Oversee catalog strategy (50,000+ SKUs), ensuring listings are accurate, optimized, and compliant with marketplace requirements. Collaborate with the VP of Marketplace to align on revenue, profitability, and customer acquisition goals.

Cross-Functional Collaboration & Technical Oversight

Partner closely with Marketplace Operations to align on execution of operational tasks and technical workflows. Collaborate with internal teams to ensure alignment on process, assortment, technical solutions, and customer support. Support and contribute to the management and optimization of marketplace integrations through Rithum and other tools. Assist in identifying and integrating new technologies that enhance marketplace performance.

Performance, Analytics & Optimization

Assist in overseeing reporting and aligning with strategic goals, monthly benchmarks, and long-term KPIs. Conduct in-depth data analysis to uncover trends, identify opportunities, and drive informed decision-making. Ensure consistent and effective listing enhancements that improve discoverability and conversion.

Qualifications

5+ years of experience in e-commerce marketplace management, experience in both Amazon 3P and 1P preferred. Strong knowledge of SEO, data analytics, and e-commerce platforms. Proficient in writing SQL queries and navigating database platforms such as BigQuery; demonstrates advanced Excel skills (e.g., pivot tables, nested formulas, data modeling) to analyze marketplace performance, automate reporting, and develop actionable dashboards. Familiarity with Rithum or similar feed management tools. Ability to analyze marketplace trends and adjust strategies accordingly. Experience in managing large product catalogs and optimizing listings for conversion. Strong understanding of the musical instrument industry and related gear is preferred. Detail-oriented, highly organized, and performance-driven.
