Job Description Job Summary The Reliability Engineer will collaborate closely with Sibelco's plant maintenance, production, and leadership teams to develop effective tools and systems for measuring the reliability of our production processes. This role involves providing engineering support for maintenance planning, supervision, operation, and maintenance of Sibelco North America Processing plants. The engineer will develop and implement programs to ensure safe operations, high equipment reliability and availability, cost-effective maintenance, and foster a culture of continuous improvement. Applying lean maintenance strategies and predictive technologies to optimize system performance, lifecycle costs, and payback is essential. The role also serves as the primary liaison for capital projects with the Capital implementation team across all cluster plants. Responsibilities Safety Maintain and promote a safe working environment for all employees. Project Management and Improvement Achieve safety and health objectives. Lead and execute reliability excellence and maintenance programs. Develop and maintain reliability maintenance strategy documents. Collaborate with Maintenance Planners and Supervisors to implement Lean manufacturing tools, empowering employees and improving financial performance. Prioritize assets based on criticality, typically using Reliability Centered Maintenance approaches, and define proactive, cost-beneficial maintenance strategies. Identify and implement predictive maintenance technologies; manage related equipment. Support operational event and equipment failure investigations to identify root causes, prescribe corrective actions, and monitor effectiveness. Conduct periodic and ad hoc program and system audits focusing on safety, compliance, maintenance effectiveness, cost savings, and energy conservation. Participate in planning, design reviews, value management, and documentation for new facilities and renovations; support utility distribution, master planning, and business continuity planning. Assist in commissioning activities for upgrades, renovations, and construction projects, including PM job plans, maintainability reviews, critical spares, and documentation. Analysis and KPI Reporting Develop and monitor equipment reliability KPIs. Lead maintenance improvement initiatives such as PM Optimization, RCM, RCA, RCFA, FMEA, and predictive maintenance tools. Maintain technical proficiency in advanced maintenance technologies. Track repair history and analyze costs and trends. Interpret failure data and ERP PM data to prioritize reliability improvements. Evaluate the effectiveness of reliability initiatives and adjust strategies accordingly. Work with Maintenance Teams to prioritize and schedule maintenance to minimize downtime. Develop solutions for repetitive or costly failures, applying value analysis for repair, redesign, or procurement decisions. Assist troubleshooting major/repetitive equipment issues. Report to Maintenance Supervisors/Managers on issues affecting safe and efficient operations. Monitor and report on maintenance KPIs, including wrench time analysis. Perform other duties as assigned. Technical Capabilities Industry Knowledge Deep understanding of glass processing equipment and processes. Engineering Skills Practical knowledge of engineering principles related to design, operation, and maintenance of structures and mechanical/electrical equipment; awareness of industry developments. Technical Skills Experience with predictive maintenance technologies such as vibration analysis, oil analysis, infrared thermography, ultrasound, and motor current analysis. Experience with Root Cause Failure Analysis, Equipment Criticality Ranking, Preventive Maintenance, and Condition-Based Maintenance. Behavioral Skills Open-minded, team player, proactive, independent, diplomatic, self-motivated. Educational and Professional Experience Minimum 10-15 years of engineering/industrial maintenance experience, including mechanical design/testing and adherence to international quality standards. At least 5 years in utility systems/management or facilities/plant maintenance; experience in the glass industry preferred. Certified Plant Engineer or Certified Maintenance Reliability Professional preferred. Proficient in English, both verbal and written.
