About the Enterprise Effects Division (EED) EED drives integration of Aerospace’s strategic capabilities across the national space enterprise, leveraging a broad array of engineering disciplines against a dynamic portfolio of programs, customers, and challenges. It spans from concept and architecture design to performance assessment and application of space-enabled mission effects.
About SNAPD The Surveillance and Navigation Architectures Performance Department (SNAPD) aims to be the premier force advising the evolution of national security and civil space enterprises, utilizing modeling and simulation expertise to evaluate architecture performance. SNAPD supports requirements definition, analyses-of-alternatives (AoA), and end-to-end performance evaluations across various mission areas. We seek a Department Director to lead staff, coordinate with customers, and collaborate on multidisciplinary analyses to ensure mission success.
Work Model This full-time position requires 100% onsite work in Chantilly, VA, El Segundo, CA, or Colorado Springs, CO.
Key Responsibilities
Lead development of modeling, simulation, and analysis capabilities to support research, development, and acquisition decisions for space architectures.
Foster a center of excellence across mission areas such as geo-spatial intelligence, signals intelligence, space surveillance, PNT systems, space protection, and communications infrastructure.
Recruit, onboard, and develop management and senior staff through performance management, mentoring, and coaching.
Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and collaborators.
Create an organizational culture promoting innovation and lead multidisciplinary teams.
Coordinate complex technical tasks, manage resources, and ensure quality of work products.
Monitor and improve organizational processes, functions, compliance, and safety.
Qualifications for Associate Director
Bachelor’s degree in STEM or related discipline.
At least 10 years of experience leading technical teams and managing complex modeling and analysis tasks.
Proven expertise in modeling, simulation, and architecture evaluation.
Effective communication skills with management, customers, and team members.
Active TS/SCI clearance and U.S. citizenship.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s or PhD in a related STEM field.
Current TS/SCI clearance.
Leadership experience in customer-facing roles.
Knowledge of IC or DoD business practices and space mission portfolios.
Experience in collaboration across multiple technical disciplines and personnel management.
Compensation and Benefits Salary range: $168,200 - $252,400 annually, determined by experience and qualifications. Benefits include health care, paid time off, flexible work schedules, 401(k), education assistance, relocation support, and professional development opportunities.
