The
Business Development/Program Manager
will support MTSI's business development efforts across the PEO Weapons Portfolio. This position will eventually transition to a full or part-time support role within EB, focusing on business development and strategic planning/engagement.This position requires an Acquisition Program Management SME with experience as a Government Material Lead and/or Senior Material Lead supporting all aspects of the acquisition process. Mastery of DoD acquisition processes and analytical methods is essential.The candidate must be skilled in system integration, communication, coordination, and planning across technical and acquisition efforts to assist customer programs in developing and sustaining Air Force warfighting capabilities. Independence, problem-solving, and compliance expertise are crucial.Relevant experience includes Air Force, Army, and/or Navy Program Management Office weapons system acquisition, with knowledge of DoD 5000.02 and related processes. The candidate should be highly motivated, able to operate in a classified environment with minimal oversight, and capable of working effectively across functional areas. Responsibilities Your key functions include but are not limited to:
Supporting business development with expert advice and planning for PEO Weapons and Eglin Enterprise. Evaluating issues and providing recommendations at the SES level on systems portfolios. Developing issue papers, presentations, congressional testimony, briefings, and reports. Reviewing acquisition documents and supporting community working groups. Preparing read-aheads and talking points. Supporting program/project managers in all project phases. Developing acquisition documents and identifying risks and solutions. Organizing technical interchanges and reviews, preparing briefings. Collaborating with DoD program offices and teams. Consulting on strategic planning, managing controversial issues, and facilitating discussions. Supporting development and acquisition of systems and subsystems, including documentation and contract evaluations. Mentoring junior personnel as an SME. Supporting contract performance evaluations and meeting logistics. Qualifications:
Extensive knowledge of USAF PEO Weapons (EB) processes and leadership. 15+ years of relevant DoD acquisition experience; certifications like MA/MS, PMP, or DAWIA Level III may substitute for some experience. At least 5 years leading acquisition teams and delivering complex products. Supporting Federal or DoD programs with cost, schedule, and performance oversight. Ability to lead through DoD milestones and acquisition strategy panels. Strong multitasking, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills. Desired Qualifications :
Experience with Major Defense Acquisition Programs. Experience working directly with SES and general officers. Master's in Business Administration preferred. Educational Requirements :
Required: Bachelor's in engineering or business (with relevant DoD contract experience). Desired: Master's in engineering, science, or acquisition management. Certifications Desired:
PMP APDP Level 3 Certified (PM) DAWIA Level III Clearance Requirements :
