Job Description
American Traveler is seeking a CVOR Certified Surgical First Assistant with recent vein harvesting experience and at least 3 years of relevant experience.
Responsibilities Work in a CVOR setting as a Certified Surgical First AssistantMonday through Friday 8-hour shifts with a 6:30 AM start timeRequired on-call rotation every third night and every third weekendPrimary patient population includes open heart and vascular surgery patientsUnit specializes in open heart and complex cardiovascular proceduresResponsible for patient positioning, holding retraction, tying sutures, assisting with dressing application, and closing skin during proceduresWill assist with prepping and setting up the operating room, maintaining sterile technique, and participating in room turnover and supply restockingWorks directly with the charge nurse to coordinate assignments and may serve as a resource for proceduresMust maintain certification as a surgical assistantNo dysrhythmia exam requiredLocals are accepted at a reduced rateTeam-oriented work environment with direct supervision from the Supervisor and surgeonFirst-time travelers will not be considered for this positionMust provide proof of address for consideration
