Position Infusion Centers Nurse Manager Location Beaufort Memorial Hospital Full-Time/Part-Time Full-Time Shift Days Exempt/Non-Exempt Exempt Description Under the direction of the Oncology Service Line Director, the Oncology Infusion Centers Nurse Manger will have supervisory responsibilities and is responsible for managing, directing and coordinating the workflow, staff and patient scheduling at both infusion center locations on a daily basis. Primary job duties will include assisting and assessing the education of staff concerning job duties and implementing practice policies, planning, staffing, directing, and controlling the activities and operations of the infusion centers. The individual will do what it takes to maintain a smooth operation and workflow in each infusion center by assigning staff, as needed, to address patient needs, to include managing the PRN RN staff and assigning staff to weekend antibiotic rotations. The individual will provide hands on involvement and take on a patient assignment at either location as needed to maintain a safe patient/nurse staffing ratio (approximately 9:1). This individual will be in charge of gathering data and reporting on infusion centers score card while also overseeing the Press Ganey Patient Satisfaction metrics and improvement processes. This position will coordinate and maintain all staff schedules to accommodate patient flow and provide coverage during times of vacation and sick time. This position will oversee supply ordering, budgeting, nursing continuing education (for Commission on Cancer and NAPBC accreditation), interviewing candidates and making recommendations for hire along with annual staff evaluations. This individual will ensure all oncology related policies and procedures are followed and will oversee new hire orientation. This manager will provide point of care leadership. This person is a role model for clinical competence and professional behavior. The manager assists the department leadership to ensure patient safety and quality patient care and is an expert clinical resource. Through collaboration with all staff in the infusion center, ancillary departments, and physician clinics this individual will facilitate effective communication and cooperation. The manger actively supports the Core Values, Mission & Vision of BMH.Position Requirements EDUCATION: Ability to obtain a South Carolina license. BSN preferred.EXPERIENCE: Minimum 5 years of Nursing experience required. At least 2 years of supervisory or charge experience required; or 2 years of Infusion/Oncology experience may substitute for supervisory experience.JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIRED: Possess visual, auditory, and verbal acuity. Good communication and customer service skills.CERTIFICATIONS/ LICENSES: SC RN license required. OCN Specialty certification required. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certificate required.
