Section of Interventional Radiology (IR) . The radiology department supports a broad spectrum of healthcare and teaching activities, partnering with

Harris Health Lyndon B. Johnson Hospital . Memorial Hermann Hospital is one of the largest Level I trauma centers. Lyndon B. Johnson Hospital is our affiliated county hospital within
Harris Health . The IR section has a new outpatient-based facility and serves a 310-bed tertiary care children's hospital. The selected candidate will work with a dynamic team of 9 board-certified interventional radiologists and 7 advanced care practitioners. We offer a highly reputable integrated IR/Digital Radiography (DR) and Early Specialization in Interventional Radiology (ESIR) residency program. The vision of the IR section is to achieve: Excellence in clinical care: Practicing longitudinal patient care with an accountable and dependable IR service. Excellence in teaching: Training the next generation of IR physicians by providing exemplary mentorship. Excellence in research and innovation: Innovating new treatments to enhance the field of Interventional Radiology. Position Key Accountabilities: The Assistant/Associate Professor will provide clinical and direct patient care, teaching, and supervise students, residents, and fellows in clinic and hospital settings. Developing and sustaining an environment in the patient care units that supports excellence and innovation in clinical practice and patient care through assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating programs and standards that support positive patient care outcomes, including excellent risk-adjusted outcomes. Serving as a role model in professional behavior, leadership skills, problem-solving ability, and interpersonal skills. Delegating authority and accountability to clinical & nursing staff for clinical practice and patient care decisions consistent with professional standards, regulatory agencies, and organizational policies and procedures. Identifying patient and family needs of the populations served; recommending and/or developing new programs and services to meet those needs; assuring that age-specific equipment, supplies, and educational resources are available for assigned units/services. Collaborating with UTHealth Houston and hospital administration, and physicians to identify future opportunities and define the direction of department services; developing and implementing plans to achieve identified goals, including OR efficiency, productivity, and patient throughput targets across the care continuum. Maintaining an ongoing departmental Quality Improvement Plan and process consistent with the organizational Quality Management Plan; developing and implementing unit-specific standards, policies, and procedures that guide and support the provision of care and services; continuously assessing and improving assigned departments' performance while enhancing service. Participating in and/or chairing committees, work groups, and meetings as appropriate. Assuring interdisciplinary performance improvement programs are active, maintained, and ongoing. Following up to ensure that complaints have been satisfactorily handled. Collaborating to maintain a focus on providing excellent clinical services. Qualifications: M.D. degree or foreign equivalent Completed postgraduate training in Radiology Completed Vascular and Interventional Fellowship Texas Medical License or the ability to obtain. Board certified in IR or board eligible. Experience in the broad spectrum of Adult IR procedures. Team mentality and ability to communicate are essential for integrating into the vision of the section.
