THE ROLE YOU WILL OWN The Senior Risk Officer will support day-to-day risk management functions within AML/CFT, Consumer Compliance, and Third-Party Risk. You’ll employ a self-starter mentality and use your strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills to collaborate with senior leadership and ensure we execute effective execution of risk-related activities and stay aligned with regulatory frameworks. You’ll also be responsible for managing and mentoring a team of risk analysts who will support our risk management function. RISK FUNCTION RESPONSIBILITIES AML/CFT Maintain and update Dept Risk Policies and Procedures annually Conduct AML/CFT and ID Theft Risk Assessments Oversee compliance with E-Sign regulations Manage KYB and Beneficial Ownership requirements Manage automated and manual/documentary KYC/CIP processes Perform daily suspicious activity and fraud alert monitoring Escalate cases and refer UARs to the bank, as needed Lead risk and compliance training initiatives Consumer Compliance Maintain and update Dept Risk Policies and Procedures annually Conduct Compliance Risk Assessments Review marketing collateral and manage bank submissions Conduct periodic reviews of the marketing lifecycle Assist with complaint escalations. Submit complaint reporting. Conduct periodic reviews of the complaint program ensuring QA standards are met. Assist with dispute escalations. Submit dispute reporting. Conduct periodic reviews of the dispute program ensuring QA standards are met. Conduct periodic reviews of customer service program ensuring QA standards are met, including SLA Metric Reporting Track regulatory updates and perform gap analyses Lead risk and compliance training initiatives Third Party Risk Management Maintain and update Dept Risk Policies and Procedures annually. Conduct Third Party Risk Assessments Manage onboarding and oversight of clients and vendors, including: Business Case Reviews Documentation Reviews GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES Hire, lead, and develop the Risk Analyst team to support compliance and risk management objectives Track, coordinate, and resolve compliance and risk-related issues Participate in projects designed to mitigate risk and improve controls Develop and maintain knowledge of applicable regulatory requirements Effectively communicate risk findings to stakeholders and drive action Balance short- and long-term risk strategies in a fast-paced environment QUALIFICATIONS 5-7 years of experience in banking and/or fintech with expertise in risk, compliance, or auditing. Higher education, certifications, and continuing education credits are preferred. Strong risk pattern identification skills, data interpretation, and risk response implementation strategy experience Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and compliance Excellent communication skills, ability to engage with senior leadership, vendors, and cross-functional teams Ability to problem solve and to think critically while working independently WHAT WE OFFER A competitive base salary range of $120,000 to $140,000 Annual bonus linked to company success and personal performance Stock Options 401(k) Retirement Savings Plan with 4% Employer Matching Contributions Flexible PTO policy Excellent Healthcare, Dental, and Vision benefits In compliance with Colorado state law, pay for this position is anticipated to be between $120,000 and $140,000.
