Our airport is a world-class facility serving more than 55 million guests each year and growing.Orlando International Airport (MCO) is the largest airport in Florida, the 9th busiest in the United States and the 17th in the world ranked by the number of passengers in 2022 according to Airports Council International North America (ACI). The airport serves as a significant transportation resource, catalyst and hub in the State of Florida. POSITIONSUMMARY: Work with the Assistant Vice President of Engineering to facilitate and manage the Greater Orlando Aviation Authority’s (Aviation Authority) engineering/architecture, development projects, and programs from inception through final design, bid and award, and provide oversight through construction and closeout. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree related to architecture, building construction, construction management disciplines and eight (8) years of aviation related work experience for a consulting firm, a construction company, a public agency, or an airport authority in managing the design and construction of small and large scale projects or an equivalent combination of related education, training, and work experience. Excellent interpersonal, management, and negotiation skills Proficient in use of computers and Microsoft Office products Knowledge of architecture and construction means and methods, and management principles. Knowledge of design, estimating, project and program scheduling Ability to organize and manage multiple projects, conduct research, analyze data and formulate recommendations Demonstrated ability to deal tactfully and confidently with internal and external customers Efficient time management method Knowledge of the following areas: Computer Aided Drafting and Design (CADD); Geographic Information Systems (GIS); Building Information Modeling (BIM.) Proficient oral and written communication skills to prioritize and execute tasks to achieve both the organization and project goals Excellent attention to detail and strategic thinking Must be able and willing to work both standard and non-standard work schedules, including weekends to accommodate airport operations Valid Florida driver’s license Professional Engineer, Architect, or General Contractor License is desirable Certification in a specialty subject area that may benefit the Aviation Authority is desirable BENEFITS:
