Principal Engineer The Principal Engineer role provides engineering and architecture support for complex system management activities related to system software, hardware, performance, problem determination, or resource management. This role requires communication and coordination with vendors, technicians, clients, and management. The engineer will provide technical input to management decisions in software, hardware, and performance areas. Responsibilities include defining networking requirements, analyzing projects and requests, developing designs for medium to high complexity projects, formulating procedures, monitoring key performance indicators, and implementing advanced business solutions. Depending on organizational maturity, this role may also involve integrating solutions or building via DevOps. Position Responsibilities: Design and Methodology

Work closely with business units, application teams, infrastructure areas, and vendors to identify, review, and evaluate solution requirements. Investigate and propose strategic solutions for virtualization, consolidation, and rationalization within infrastructure or business contexts. Suggest changes to technical architecture and design solutions as applicable. Evaluate and align strategic solutions across infrastructure platforms, focusing on system hardware and software technologies. Participate in, review, and influence long-term capacity planning and technology investments. Technical Consulting

Provide client consulting and planning guidance for moderate to large, highly complex projects or programs. Collaborate with other infrastructure departments on initiatives to meet organizational and business goals. Participate in and consult on project architecture, design development, system integration, and planning, ensuring alignment with established strategies and principles. Planning and Organizing

Identify and evaluate projects and initiatives, designing processes to enhance existing and upcoming solutions. Translate requirements into standard service solutions, identify opportunities for technology reuse, and provide cost-effective solutions for complex projects. Review, identify, and manage requirements, conducting cost, feasibility, and risk analyses. Risk Management

Review, develop, and update architectural standards, guiding principles, and strategies. Evaluate and approve complex design solutions for business and infrastructure projects or initiatives.
