Position: International Corporate Controller Location:
Carlsbad, CA (Hybrid – 2–3 days/week in office) Compensation:
Approximately $200,000 base salary plus 20–25% bonus potential We are seeking an accomplished and strategic International Corporate Controller to lead global accounting operations for a rapidly growing organization focused on environmental sustainability. This role offers a clear path to advancement into a Chief Accounting Officer position and provides the opportunity to work in a collaborative, purpose-driven environment. Key Responsibilities: Lead and manage the global corporate accounting function. Oversee IFRS and US GAAP financial reporting, including monthly, quarterly, and annual statements and regulatory filings. Direct the consolidation of financial statements, MD&A, FP&A, and budgeting processes. Manage the monthly close process and ensure timely production of consolidated financials. Coordinate annual audits for the consolidated entity and select subsidiaries. Review regional financial results and resolve intercompany issues as needed. Implement a monthly close and reporting process aligned with best practices and the COSO Framework. Collaborate with Legal, Development, and other teams to ensure compliance with contractual obligations (e.g., loan documents, O&M agreements, EPC contracts). Ensure compliance with statutory reporting requirements across jurisdictions. Provide leadership and guidance to regional accounting and finance teams. Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field; CPA or equivalent credential required. Minimum 15 years of experience, including public accounting and leadership roles in multinational, multicurrency, and publicly traded environments. Expertise in both US GAAP and IFRS. Proven experience with financial reporting and compliance for public companies. Strong background in internal controls and accounting operations. Experience with global entities, foreign currency transactions, and multi-currency consolidations. In-depth knowledge of construction or energy accounting, including revenue recognition and cost accounting. Demonstrated ability to deliver accurate, timely results and manage cross-functional collaboration. Proficiency with Microsoft Dynamics/D365 or similar ERP systems preferred.
