LHH Recruitment Solutions is seeking an Assistant Corporate Controller for a well-established client in the manufacturing industry located in Mansfield, TX. This position is responsible for overseeing financial reporting activities, managing monthly close processes, and leading key accounting functions such as cost accounting, credit & collections, and cash applications. In addition to holding a CPA license, the ideal candidate will bring at least seven years of experience in accounting, including cost accounting within a large manufacturing environment, and have demonstrated success in managing and developing finance teams. Strong leadership, a hands-on approach, and the ability to implement process improvements and drive operational efficiency is required. Responsibilities Manage and mentor the cost accounting, credit & collections, and cash application teams while fostering a culture of continuous improvement. Oversee the plant-level and A/R month-end close process, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and adherence to deadlines. Review and analyze monthly financial results to support executive decision-making with reliable and timely data. Support the external audit process by compiling required documentation and addressing audit inquiries effectively. Assist with the development of the plant’s annual budget, insurance renewals, and related financial programs. Identify opportunities for automation, standardization, and efficiency within financial operations. Maintain a thorough understanding of general ledger structures and financial reporting systems across multiple platforms. Support policy development and implementation, assist with ad-hoc reporting, and contribute to strategic projects. Client Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is required; a Master’s degree is a plus. CPA certification is required. Minimum of seven years of accounting experience, including extensive work with cost accounting in a large manufacturing setting. At least five years of experience managing accounting or finance teams. Strong understanding of US GAAP and financial reporting best practices. Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interface across departments. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel. Seniority level
