Location: Ashburn, Virginia, United States of America No Clearance 315233 The Opportunity: CACI is seeking a UI/UX Designer with agile methodology experience to join our BEAGLE (Border Enforcement Applications for Government Leading-Edge Information Technology) Agile Solution Factory (ASF) Team supporting Customs and Border Protection (CBP) in Northern Virginia. Join a passionate team dedicated to best practices in Agile Software Development for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). As a member of the BEAGLE ASF Team, you will support efforts to safeguard the American people, enhancing national security and prosperity. CBP agents and officers work on the front lines, protecting our national interests through integrated activities in customs, immigration, border security, and agriculture. HYBRID work options available. Responsibilities: Participate as an Agile Scrum team member, providing UI/UX design and development for software releases in short sprint cycles, collaborating closely with analysts, developers, stakeholders, and end users. Design custom software capabilities for legacy and modern systems with limited oversight. Lead the creation of a cohesive look-and-feel and standardized user experience across applications. Collaborate with creative, UX, visual design, development teams, and clients to develop effective design strategies. Create compelling, user-focused experiences aligned with business objectives. Develop style guides, interaction patterns, and information design standards. Produce wireframes, mockups, and prototypes to communicate design ideas to stakeholders. Establish and maintain style libraries across applications. Work with functional teams to assess feasibility and improve designs. Ensure product quality, timeliness, and provide guidance and performance reports. Mentor junior team members. Qualifications: Required: U.S. Citizen able to pass CBP background investigation (3-year felony check, 1-year drug and misconduct checks). Degree in Interactive Design, Architecture, Industrial Design, Graphic Design, or Human Factors with 7+ years of related experience. Experience designing intuitive, responsive websites and web applications. Proficiency with enterprise UI design tools like Figma, Axure, or similar. Experience communicating designs effectively to stakeholders. Knowledge of modern front-end frameworks such as Angular. Ability to ensure applications are user-friendly and deliver value. Experience managing design projects through discovery, concept, detailed design, and implementation stages. Passion for solving user challenges through design. Ability to influence design standards and ensure a consistent customer experience. Experience defining design systems and standards. Ability to collaborate with stakeholders and drive effective solutions. Proficiency in creating various design artifacts like maps, diagrams, wireframes, prototypes, and visuals. Use of data and feedback to validate designs. Experience with responsive and mobile-first design. Design experience spanning consumer-facing and internal applications. User-centered approach respecting business needs. Knowledge of design tools like Figma, Axure, Sketch, Invision, XD. Desired: Design Thinking certifications (e.g., IDEO, Stanford, MIT). Experience designing for web accessibility (Section 508). Knowledge of information architecture. Interest in educating others on user-centered design. Understanding of Lean and Agile principles. Ability to contribute to innovative design principles. The salary depends on various factors, including location, experience, skills, and education. The range is $103,800 - $218,100.
