An electric utility client is looking for a
Planning Transmission Engineer
who will develop new methodologies and tools to perform scenario analysis and recommend ones that could enhance the company’s in-house transmission and subtransmission planning process capabilities. Location:
Pomona, CA 91768 (Hybrid) Position:
Planning Transmission Engineer Pay Rate:
$70/hr. on W2 Duration:
12 months or longer Schedule:
1st shift, M-F, onsite on Wednesdays and Thursdays, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm Typical Responsibilities
Familiar with transmission/subtransmission engineering, planning, maintenance, and policy Project management experience to lead initiatives, including assigning, monitoring, and delivering milestones Develop new methodologies and tools to perform scenario analysis and recommend ones that could enhance the company’s in-house transmission and subtransmission planning process capabilities. Follow regulatory forecasting and planning processes driving California’s transition to carbon-free resources and electrification (CEC IEPR Demand Forecast, CPUC Integrated Resource Plan, and CAISO Transmission Planning Process) and inform upcoming transmission needs. Understand transmission development processes and recommend improvements Collaborate with organizations through hosting of working sessions Brief senior leadership and executives Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree Transmission / Subtransmission System Planning Previous utility system planning experience 10+ years of system planning experience Ability to conduct system planning analysis leading to the identification of needs and mitigations PSLF Ability to distill technical information for executive level presentation and updates About Our Client
