We're looking for a Solar System Design Engineer with at least 5 years of experience to help lead the design and engineering of solar + storage systems for commercial and industrial sites. What You’ll Do: Conduct site walks and evaluate feasibility for PV + ESS projects Gather and analyze site data (electrical, structural, environmental) Use tools like

for system modeling and performance estimates Ensure all designs meet NEC, CEC, UL, IEEE, and utility-specific standards Coordinate with project managers, utility reps, permitting bodies, and construction teams Support permitting, interconnection, and commissioning activities Set and refine internal CAD standards; oversee drafting workflows Drive continuous improvement of design templates and processes What You Bring: B.S. in Electrical Engineering or related field 5+ years of hands-on experience designing solar PV and ESS systems Proficient in
AutoCAD ,
PVSyst , and developing one-line diagrams Familiar with DC/AC coupled systems and energy storage integration (Tesla, Fluence, PCS, etc.) Strong understanding of NEC 690/705/706, UL 1741-SA, IEEE 1547 Knowledge of IOU interconnection processes (PG&E, SCE, SDG&E, etc.) Excellent documentation and communication skills EIT or NABCEP certification a plus 1+ year of team leadership or mentoring experience preferred Seniority level
