E-Space is seeking a hands-on leader to head our Systems Engineering and AIT functions, overseeing satellite design integration from concept through launch. This role will own architecture development, requirements management, verification strategies, and all integration & test operations to ensure our constellation is built correctly.
What you will be doing:
Lead the Systems Engineering team through concept, design, delivery, and operations phases. Own end-to-end system requirements, interface control, verification, and validation. Direct AIT activities: spacecraft build, functional testing, and environmental campaigns. Ensure configuration control and design traceability across the entire hardware lifecycle. Drive integration between electrical, mechanical, RF, software, and mission operations teams. Implement streamlined, scalable AIT processes for rapid constellation deployment. Tailor processes, requirements, and configurations to balance risk with cost, schedule, and performance, aligning with our startup culture. What you'll bring to this role:
8+ years in spacecraft systems engineering and AIT leadership roles. Deep experience with requirement flowdown, ICDs, verification, and validation plans. Proven ability to build and manage integration labs and flight hardware campaigns. Expertise in environmental testing (TVAC, vibe, EMI/EMC). Strong leadership and team development skills in fast-paced environments, both as a people manager and technical coach. Bonus points for the following:
Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering Master’s degree in engineering Experience with electrical and software interface management Familiarity with Ansys STK Understanding of designing electronic hardware from concept to production Experience with radiation effects and testing Project and program management skills This is a full-time, exempt position based in our Saratoga office. The target base salary ranges from $100,000 to $190,000 annually, with total compensation determined by your relevant experience and skills. We are at the forefront of redefining satellite design, manufacturing, and usage—so we seek candidates with passion, deep knowledge, and direct experience in LEO satellite component development, design, and in-orbit activities.
