Controller
to oversee the financial operations of the organization.
Position Summary:
The Controller is a key member of the leadership team responsible for the integrity of all financial reporting and compliance. This role oversees all day-to-day accounting operations including cash management, payroll, accounts payable, financial audits, and reporting. The Controller will lead a team of finance professionals and work closely with executive leadership to ensure the financial health and transparency of the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
Cash & Banking Oversight
Manage daily cash flow and banking activity Oversee treasury functions, bank reconciliations, and relationships with financial institutions Ensure internal controls are maintained to safeguard organizational assets
Payroll & Benefits Oversight
Supervise payroll processing and compliance, Ensure accurate deductions for healthcare, retirement, and other benefits. Perform regular payroll and benefits reconciliations to identify and resolve discrepancies. Lead annual 401(k) audit coordination and related reporting Ensure payroll tax compliance and timely filings
Accounts Payable Oversight
Oversee AP team to ensure timely and accurate invoice processing and vendor payments Review and approve high-dollar invoices and contractual disbursements Monitor and enforce adherence to procurement and approval policies
Financial Reporting & Audit Management
Prepare timely and accurate monthly financial statements (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow) Serve as primary liaison for annual financial statement audits and banking-related audits Maintain compliance with GAAP and regulatory standards Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis with leadership
Team Leadership & Development
Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing accounting and finance team Foster a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and collaboration
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred) Minimum 7–10 years of progressive accounting experience, including supervisory experience Prior healthcare or multi-entity practice/group experience required Strong knowledge of GAAP, internal controls, and audit practices Experience with payroll systems and financial software (e.g., Sage Intacct, QuickBooks, ADP) Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership skills
Preferred Attributes:
Experience navigating the financial operations of a provider group or medical practice Ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment Strong attention to detail with the ability to see the big picture
