Role Overview Bring Your Culinary Vision to Life as Our Assistant Executive Chef – Banquet Operations. Are you ready to shape the future of banquet and catering excellence? As the Assistant Executive Chef of Banquet Operations, you’ll play a key role in defining our culinary culture. This hands-on leadership role blends creativity and precision, guiding a talented team to deliver exceptional experiences for every event. From executing high-quality dishes to mentoring team members and driving performance, you’ll be at the heart of it all—elevating guest satisfaction and setting new standards in banquet dining.
Job Responsibilities
Leading Operations:
Supervise, direct, and coordinate activities of the Banquet Chefs, Sous Chefs, and Line Staff, managing schedules and ensuring operational demands are met. Provide daily operational guidance.
Guest Hospitality & Service:
Demonstrate leadership in guest hospitality, ensure excellent customer service, review satisfaction data, and maintain positive guest relations.
Food Presentation & Quality:
Monitor execution of recipes to ensure consistency and quality, eliminating culinary drift.
Staff Development & Management:
Guide and evaluate staff performance, participate in hiring and training, and address underperformance with improvement plans.
Creativity & Menu Development:
Lead menu creation, incorporate guest feedback, and stay current with culinary trends. Plan menus accommodating dietary restrictions.
Communication & Collaboration:
Conduct regular meetings, coordinate with sales and event teams, and ensure smooth communication across departments.
Financial & Safety Compliance:
Manage budgets, review financial data, and ensure safety standards and food safety protocols are followed, including HACCP and Serve Safe standards.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent; Culinary Arts degree preferred
5-7 years of experience as an Executive Banquet Chef in large venues
Leadership experience in a high-volume kitchen
Proficiency in English communication, math, and computer skills (MS Office)
Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays
Physical ability to stand, walk, and lift up to 100 pounds
