This key leadership position is responsible for ensuring operational excellence, regulatory compliance, budget management, and staff development in a dynamic and high-stakes maternal care setting.The ideal candidate will bring strong clinical knowledge, strategic leadership, and the ability to foster a culture of collaboration and quality improvement in labor and delivery services. Primary ResponsibilitiesLeads by example to uphold excellence in maternal and newborn care, setting the standard for clinical quality and professionalism across the unit.Demonstrates effective delegation and team leadership skills to ensure high performance and accountability within the nursing staff.Manages department operations within budgetary guidelines, ensuring optimal use of resources while maintaining quality outcomes.Collaborates with administrative leadership to align departmental goals with broader organizational objectives and strategic plans.Maintains full compliance with all federal, state, and Joint Commission standards and ensures staff are trained and compliant with regulatory guidelines.Promotes a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment for patients, families, and staff, with a strong emphasis on patient-centered care and outcomes. Required Qualifications RN License - Current and unrestricted CPR Certification - Current Minimum 5 years of clinical experience as a Registered Nurse At least 2 years in a leadership or management role (Manager/Director level preferred) Physical Demands Assists with lifting and moving patients Occasionally lifts up to 25 lbs Frequent standing, walking, reaching, bending, and stooping May require emergency response and hands-on patient support Working Conditions Routine exposure to body fluids, infectious diseases, and unpleasant patient conditions Direct patient care under a wide range of circumstances Occasionally exposed to emergency situations with high criticality Must exercise sound judgment in high-pressure environments Subject to unpredictability in patient needs and department demands ConclusionThis is a unique opportunity for an experienced nursing leader to join an impactful maternal health team and influence the care of women and newborns during one of life's most critical moments.
