The University of Minnesota Institute for Health Informatics (IHI) invites applications for faculty positions at various ranks (tenure/tenure track) with expertise in Natural Language Processing, knowledge representation, and data modeling within Biomedical Artificial Intelligence. The IHI, with its 21 core faculty and extensive collaborative projects, focuses on Clinical Informatics, Translational Bioinformatics, AI for Healthcare, and related fields. We are seeking candidates to expand our capabilities in: Biomedical NLP using Deep Learning and causal inference Knowledge Representation, including computable guidelines and biological pathway modeling Analysis of relational and unstructured data such as social media and literature This is an open-rank search: Junior faculty (Assistant Professor): PhD in AI, Computer Science, or related, with early career achievements indicating high potential. Mid/Senior faculty (Associate/Full Professor): PhD with significant accomplishments, leadership, and sustained impact in the field. Successful candidates will be expected to develop research programs, mentor students and faculty, participate in service, and potentially hold cross-appointments. The position offers a salary range of $120,000 - $135,000, depending on experience, with flexible appointment status (75%-100%).
