Join GE Aerospace's Legal & Compliance team as a
Senior Counsel specializing in Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) . Reporting to the EHS Executive Counsel, you will support both GE Aerospace’s operational EHS organization and remediation efforts related to the Company’s legacy sites. GE Aerospace is a leading provider of jet and turboprop engines and systems for various aircraft. This role is key in maintaining our over 100 years of expertise, partnerships, and commitment to safety and innovation. Our purpose is to invent the future of flight, lift people up, and bring them home safely. As Senior Counsel - EHS, you will provide legal counsel across two main areas: approximately 40% advising on compliance for industrial operations, and 60% managing legacy environmental remediation projects, including site management, negotiations with regulators, and litigation. You will also support M&A transactions and enforcement actions. Roles and Responsibilities
Advise on operational EHS laws such as the Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, RCRA, CERCLA, TSCA, EU & UK REACH, OSH Act, and others. Assess and advise on environmental issues within the legacy portfolio, ensuring compliance with Superfund and state regulations. Develop legal and regulatory strategies for environmental projects. Lead permitting efforts with cross-functional teams. Monitor and assess new laws/regulations impacting the business. Draft comments on proposed regulatory changes and advocate for the company. Support internal investigations on compliance allegations. Respond to notices of non-compliance from regulators. Collaborate with Litigation team on EHS-related legal matters. Drive improvements and standardization across EHS legal processes. Participate in global EHS audits. Required Qualifications
5-7 years of environmental legal experience in law firms, government, or in-house roles. Juris Doctor from an ABA-accredited law school. Member in good standing of at least one state bar. Desired Characteristics
Strong communication skills. Pragmatic advice aligned with business goals. Experience in remediation, M&A, and environmental compliance. Leadership and interpersonal skills. Problem-solving and program management abilities. Ability to work within a complex organization. Salary range: $145,400 - $193,800 annually, plus discretionary bonus.
