About the Role
The Company is seeking a seasoned Senior Environmental Health & Safety Counsel to join its dynamic Legal & Compliance team. In this pivotal role, you will provide expert legal guidance on a wide variety of Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) matters, ensuring compliance with core statutes including the Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, RCRA, CERCLA, and TSCA, as well as international regulations. You will also manage the company's legacy environmental remediation projects by overseeing site management, project implementation, regulator negotiations, and related litigation.
Your expertise will be instrumental in crafting and executing legal, technical, and regulatory strategies, while leading complex permitting processes and actively advocating for regulatory advancements. To qualify, you must hold a Juris Doctorate from an ABA-accredited law school and be a member in good standing with at least one state bar. Ideally, you will bring 5-7 years of environmental legal experience, with a strong emphasis on remediation, mergers and acquisitions, and a proven ability to navigate challenges in a complex, matrixed environment.
We are looking for a proactive leader with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of offering practical legal advice that aligns with our business objectives. The ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and external regulatory bodies is crucial for success in this role. Travel for this position is minimal, less than 10%.
