The Director of Casino Marketing works in partnership with the Vice President of Marketing in developing strategies and programs to achieve success with key business objectives including, but not limited to, revenue generation, guest experience, acquisition, retention, profitability, and team member engagement. Directly leads management with ownership of Events and Promotions, Entertainment, VIP, Multicultural, and National Casino Marketing. Ability to analyze competitive information and internal financial information and develop plans with measurable results. Creative and innovative problem-solving skills. Must have previous examples of work that demonstrates creativity and innovation. Ability to develop effective working relationships with peers. Coordinate gaming marketing activities with operating departments. Must possess financial abilities and cost control techniques. Ability to develop and implement annual marketing plans. Must be technically proficient with all related marketing programs and systems. Must possess excellent communication skills, particularly those skills needed to work with outside vendors in related fields of marketing as well as dissatisfied and upset customers. Must be able to manage multiple objectives and tasks simultaneously and be able to continually assess and re-set priorities. Ability to represent company at public functions and speak to groups of all sizes. Excellent interpersonal, customer service, communication and team building skills are required. About the role: Achieve maximum revenue in each targeted market segment for the resort. Generates ideas to grow existing business and expand into new business opportunities. Anticipate and react to changes in competition, planning assumptions and will alter plans as necessary. Guides marketing management to develop and execute the marketing calendar program strategy and tactics. Partners with analytics team to determine forecast targets, analyze performance and make necessary adjustments based on results. Ensures that event marketing collateral is accurate and in line with event objectives. Establishes guest activation strategies and objectives for on and off-site events. Guides offer creative and reinvestment strategy with Direct Marketing leadership. Ensures property décor and collateral is consistent with and amplifies branding. Interprets management philosophy to others; translating concepts into practical applications and analyze and modify systems based on given management concepts. Designs décor and experiences for off-site events in collaboration with PR, Sponsorships and Partnerships, and Community Relations. Analyzes property’s customer service scores and make recommendations for improvement. Act as advocate for the customer. Holds managers accountable for performance. Leads strategy creation for headliner and environmental entertainment. Leads strategy creation for VIP, Multicultural and National Casino Marketing revenue and profit growth. Creates VIP guest service and experience objectives in order to maximize guest service scores and VIP guest loyalty. Hires and manages staff for each of the VIP Marketing teams. Develops personal relationships and manages staff to also develop personal relationships with premium players in both tables and slots, in all domestic markets and with sister properties within the Brand. Monitors productivity and holds staff accountable for all measurable objectives. Works closely with hotel yield team to ensure proper VIP segments are yielded correctly to promote hotel visitation. Delegates assignments to the most appropriate person by analyzing the requirements of the task and relating those to the capabilities of employees to accomplish tasks on time and with budget. Meets individually with employees to discuss career goals, identifies skills needed to achieve goals and develops plans to satisfy both. Experience Required: 5+ years of experience in marketing within the gaming industry. Experience assessing business needs and developing strategies to address those needs. Strong marketing experience and track record of results required. Experience developing, leading and managing a team to success. Technical/Education Skills Required: 4-year degree in Marketing or related field. MBA preferred but not required. A few more things: Ability to simultaneously manage several projects, and not be frustrated by changing priorities and unforeseen obstacles to achieving objectives. Ability to speak distinctly and persuasively. Must be able to maneuver to all areas of the casino. Must be able to bend, reach, kneel, twist, and grip items while working at an assigned office area. Must have the manual dexterity to operate office equipment such as a 10 key adding machine, PC, fax machine and photo copier. Must be able to tolerate a smoke-filled environment for up to eight hours. Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English. Must be able to respond to visual and aural cues.
