We strive to attract and retain employees by offering competitive compensation, a comprehensive benefits package (including retirement) and promotional opportunities.SummaryThe O&M Specialist will develop and produce System Descriptions, operations and maintenance procedures, and additional NAES procedural programs as directed. This is for a variety of power generation and industrial technologies through analysis of technical manuals, schematics, control and logic diagrams, and other plant design information.Primary DutiesPerform detailed analysis of plant technical data and extract pertinent information for use in procedures development, presenting the information in a manner that promotes a thorough understanding of the material by plant and client personnelFormulate and edit text for facility operations manuals, including step-by-step instructions for operation of equipment, systems, and overall plant functions, with emphasis on technical accuracy and compliance with standard engineering principles and practicesFormulate and edit text for plant program manuals, including Safety, Maintenance, Training, and Assessment programs. Assist in the development of spreadsheets, forms and other useful tools to be utilized by the plants in implementing the various O&M programsExtract maintenance requirements from various vendor manuals and develop maintenance schedules and procedures to support plant personnel in performing and recording maintenance and repairsSchedule and execute training programs which coordinate both manufacturer and company provided training on all plant systems and major componentsInterface with manufacturer representatives regarding schedules and scope of material to be presented and obtain commitments to participate as scheduledCreate lesson plans, examinations, and answer keys designed to ensure that the requisite information has been provided for each training sessionDesign, obtain, coordinate, or prepare, as necessary, training aids and materials to be used during each applicable training sessionScope of ResponsibilitiesDetermines own practices and procedures, contributing to the development of new concepts, performing duties under the direction of the Manager of O&M Services. Decisions are made within policy constraints and duties are performed in a team environment.Position encounters a wide diversity of work situations, which are generally complex in nature.Contacts are normally made with others inside and outside the company, including plant operators and supervisors at all levels of responsibility as well as immediate associates and own supervisor. Acts as representative of NAES headquarters during visits to plant sites or facilities. Acts as liaison between procedures team and on-site project management staff.Ensure that all project requirements are addressed, including but not limited to the following: issuing required reports, developing production delivery schedules, tracking of project status against planned execution. Proactively respond to client driven matters and/or inputs.Working RelationshipsThe O&M Specialist reports to the Manager of O&M Services and will develop Operations and Maintenance programs under the direction of the Manager of O&M Services or a Senior O&M Specialist.CompensationThe initial compensation will range from $84,000 - $96,0000 depending on experience and qualificationsEducation and ExperienceAssociate degree in engineering or equivalent technical training knowledge and experienceFour to six years practical experience in operations and maintenance in a variety of technologies such as combustion equipment, large combustion engines, boilers, steam systems, turbines, generators, chillers, cooling towers, water treatment systems, electrical distribution, solar, geothermal, wind, fire protection, and other facility mechanical and electricalTwo to three years related technical writing, training, and experience in the development of technical documents preferred.Specific Skills and KnowledgeThorough knowledge and understanding of safe and acceptable industry practices andAbility to analyze large amounts of technical data and interpret such information for day-to-day use by plantAbility to formulate and communicate thoughts and ideas developed in a power plant and/or industrial facility context into cogent procedural guidance for plant personnel and integrated classroomExcellent writing and analytical skills and an ability to communicate information in both formal and informalThorough knowledge of English composition principles and technical and non- technical vocabularyPhysical Requirements and Working ConditionsNormal working hours are 8:00a.m. to 5:00p.m. Monday through Friday. Extensive travel may be required to meet client or project requirements. Work is performed on industrial sites when traveling, requiring protective clothing and equipment. Extended hours may be required during travel or due to project phasing and project specific requirements. Client demands may dictate adjustment to this schedule including on-call duty and demands beyond the normal job description.Fit for DutyAll employees will participate in the Fitness for Duty Program.
