Johnson VA Medical Center located at 1 Medical Center Dr, Clarksburg, WV 26301. The shift schedule is typically 12-hour shifts, 7am-7pm or 7pm-7am. Responsibilities Provide direct inpatient care (95% of time) Admit and manage hospitalized patients Perform history and physicals, diagnostics, and treatment Coordinate discharge planning and follow-up Participate in code and rapid response teams Perform procedures (e.g., lumbar puncture, thoracentesis, paracentesis) Attend quality improvement meetings Complete documentation in VA’s EHR (CPRS) Report patient safety incidents within 24 hours Comply with VA policies on privacy, ethics, and infection control Ensure continuous coverage, including during absences Provide replacement within 2 hours if a scheduled provider is unavailable Maintain a contingency plan for staffing changes Qualifications Board Certified in Internal Medicine Active, unrestricted medical license in any U.S. state, territory, or D.C.
