Job Description The Business Development Manager's (BDM) primary function is outside business development, which requires them to spend more than half of their working time away from the office presenting Arch's services to core customers such as Facility Managers, Assisted Living facilities, Property Managers, Universities, Industrial companies, and General Contractors. The BDM works in conjunction with Project Managers to retain and grow existing customers & identify and convert new customers. You will implement company strategies and policies to meet planned sales objectives. Develop and execute territory-level strategy and tactics to retain current customer bases & market share, regain lost business, and prospect for new business in target markets. Key Responsibilities Prospects, qualifies, develops, and closes on new opportunities. Documents lead generation, activity, sales tracking, and analysis through the CRM system. Creates sales plan that include target accounts. Creates a sales plan that nurtures existing accounts. Identifies opportunities, plans executes, and measures results, including the tracking of leads. Actively markets to new potential clients/relationships. Develops and manages strategies needed to address business development issues critical to penetrating new markets as well as maintaining Arch’s position as a leader in key markets. Performs follow-up with both new and existing accounts while maintaining a high level of customer service and strengthening customer relationships. Develop a sales plan to deliver the assigned growth targets on both long-term project plans and short-term goals. Understands customer needs and can translate them into portfolio targets. Makes sales calls to develop and maintain business relationships 80% of the time in face-to-face meetings. Qualifications: Outside sales experience within the construction industry is preferred but not required. Strong interpersonal, presentation, written, and verbal communication skills required. Can self-manage, deliver on deadlines, and have well-developed organizational skills. Possesses a balance of being able to work with a team effectively and independently with effective time management skills. Has a can-do attitude and is always willing to learn new skills and tools. Proven record of accomplishment of successful sales and business development. Ability to structure and negotiate strategic alliances within the territory. Execution of targeted marketing programs and market development strategies. CRM database experience desired but not necessary. Must be able to work effectively and efficiently in a dynamic, fast-moving, deadline-driven environment. Introductory level ability to use Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint). Recognized as a high-performing seller who can engage with customers, build relationships, and have the business acumen and strategic thinking to identify business challenges and solve them. Strong creative, analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills. Base Pay + Commission, benefit eligible, opportunity to join a growing company! Seniority level
