We're looking for an exceptional leader to join our Solution Engineering team focused on the State, Local, NGO and Education (SLED+NGO) segments. If you possess proven leadership, deep intellectual curiosity, superb problem-solving abilities, and an unwavering belief that the right technology can solve any challenge, you're the ideal candidate for this pivotal position.
As a MuleSoft Solution Engineering Senior Manager, SLED+NGO Segments, you'll be a vital player-coach within our SE leadership team. You'll collaborate closely with Sales and Customer Success to drive significant impact for our SLED+NGO customers. You'll directly manage an existing team of Solution Engineers, and your responsibilities will include:
Team Leadership & Development: Directly managing, mentoring, and developing a high-performing team of Solution Engineers. This includes resource allocation, conducting performance reviews, fostering professional growth, and ensuring team members are enabled for success in the SLED+NGO market.
Strategic Engagement: Participating in key customer opportunities, building strong executive relationships, and providing technical leadership to secure strategic wins within the SLED+NGO sector.
Technical & Sales Guidance: Offering expert guidance to your team on complex integration challenges, API strategies, and effective sales approaches tailored to public sector procurement and requirements.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Serving as a crucial liaison between your team, SLED+NGO Sales Leadership, Product Management, Professional Services, and other internal stakeholders to ensure alignment, gather feedback, and advocate for the needs of the SLED+NGO market.
Market Enablement: Empowering your team to articulate the value of MuleSoft's Anypoint Platform for digital transformation, legacy modernization, and citizen/student service delivery within State, Local, NGO, and Education environments.
You'll need excellent strategic selling skills and the ability to navigate the unique landscapes of government and educational institutions. What You Bring:
7+ Years of Proven Leadership: Demonstrated experience in people management, team leadership, or significant program/project leadership, ideally within a technical pre-sales or consulting environment.
Executive Presence: A strong record of delivering compelling and impactful executive presentations and the ability to coach and mentor your team in these critical skills.
Exceptional Communication: Solid verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, adept at translating complex technical concepts for diverse audiences.
SLED+NGO Sector Knowledge: Strong understanding, interest, or direct background working with State, Local Government, NGO, or Educational institutions.
10+ years of proven technical acumen: Deep understanding and technical expertise in enterprise integration patterns, APIs, microservices, cloud architectures (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP), and enterprise software and how MuleSoft delivers on it’s promise to “connect anything and change everything”.
Problem Solver & Collaborator: Ability to work effectively within a team to solve complex business and technical challenges in varied political and organizational environments.
Agile & Organized: Proven time management and prioritization skills in a dynamic sales environment.
Travel Readiness: Ability to travel domestically as needed (up to 50%).
Bonus Points For:
Prior Solution Engineering leadership experience, especially within the SLED+NGO or public sector.
Direct experience with MuleSoft's Anypoint Platform in a technical or pre-sales capacity or professional services capacity.
Experience with other integration platforms or enterprise middleware solutions.
Relevant industry certifications (e.g., TOGAF, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, MuleSoft Certifications, Agentforce, Salesforce, etc).
