What You'll Do
Conceptualize, design, and develop innovative tooling and equipment specifically for the assembly, calibration, testing, and servicing of the Optimus robot, encompassing both mechanical structures and electrical/electronic integration Lead the hands-on fabrication, assembly, wiring, and validation of prototype and production-ready tooling, fixtures, and test systems Integrate sensors, actuators, control systems, and data acquisition components into tooling solutions to enhance functionality and diagnostic capabilities Collaborate intimately with Optimus design engineers, manufacturing teams, and robot technicians to deeply understand requirements,
identify
challenges, and rapidly iterate on solutions Develop comprehensive documentation, including 3D CAD models, electrical schematics, build procedures, and user guides for the tooling you create Actively
participate
in the troubleshooting, refinement, and continuous improvement of tooling based on performance data and user feedback in a dynamic R&D and production environment
What You'll Bring
Bachelor's Degree in Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience
Proven experience (e.g., 3+ years, or specify desired range) in designing and building custom tooling, fixtures, or automated equipment with integrated mechanical and electrical components Significant hands-on experience in a role such as an engineering technician, service technician, or mechatronics specialist, with demonstrated
expertise
in building, wiring, debugging, and commissioning complex electro-mechanical systems Proficiency
in 3D CAD software (e.g., CATIA, SolidWorks, or similar) for mechanical design Competency in creating and interpreting electrical schematics and wiring diagrams A strong first-principles approach to problem-solving, with a bias for action and practical implementation Excellent ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment

$100,160 - $177,480/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
