Boston Public Schools seeks an exceptional
SPECIAL EDUCATION [Learning Disabled] BIOLOGY TEACHER
with an SEI Endorsement who is highly qualified and knowledgeable to join our community of teachers, learners, and leaders. REPORTS TO: Principal/Head of Schools
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Implement district learning goals aligned with state frameworks, including identifying access points for student portfolio development.
Provide small-group instruction to students with moderate to severe cognitive delays, ensuring understanding and progress in the general curriculum.
Write and implement goals and objectives consistent with student IEPs and provide regular progress reports.
Provide accommodations for learning and testing; develop curriculum and analyze student work for assessments like MCAS Alternative.
Collaborate with staff to support modifications for student needs.
Assist in transitioning students to adult living services as appropriate.

QUALIFICATIONS - REQUIRED:
Bachelor's degree
Massachusetts Teaching License in appropriate content area and Moderate Disabilities for the relevant grade level
SEI Endorsement or ESL License at the appropriate level
Meet all licensing and qualification standards
Authorization to work in the U.S.
QUALIFICATIONS - PREFERRED:
Experience in urban schools
Knowledge of Physics and Chemistry
Degree in Special Education
Fluency in BPS official languages such as Spanish, Creole, Chinese, Vietnamese, Portuguese, or Somali
Certification in core content and special education areas
