Role Summary

The Underground Superintendent will coordinate, plan, and supervise project teams, including Foremen, ensuring efficient project execution and fostering excellent customer relationships. The role requires interacting with staff at all levels, maintaining professionalism, and proactively addressing issues.

Responsibilities

Coordinate materials, equipment, and inspections to support project schedules.

Review construction documents for completeness and constructability, understanding contract details.

Collaborate with design engineers to resolve discrepancies and develop site logistics plans.

Manage project schedules, including three- and six-week look-ahead plans.

Oversee the utilization of tools, equipment, and materials.

Supervise and mentor Foremen and crews, conduct site orientations and safety meetings.

Manage safety protocols, incident reporting, and ensure compliance with safety regulations.

Track work progress, craft productivity, and conduct performance reviews.

Participate in hiring, disciplinary actions, and career development discussions.

Ensure a clean and safe work environment.

Identify process improvements and manage project safety, quality, and compliance.

Qualifications

Minimum eight years of underground pipeline construction experience, with at least two years in supervisory roles, focusing on wet utilities.

Proven ability to manage complex projects and adapt to changing priorities.

Strong communication, time management, and interpersonal skills.

Ability to read and understand construction documents and instructions.

Additional Requirements

Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Civil, Architectural Engineering, or Construction Management preferred.

Valid CA Driver’s License with a good driving record.

Strong organizational and record-keeping skills.

Compensation

Pay Range: $115,000.00 - $164,700.00/year, based on experience.
