SRE Principal Consultant . The position will primarily be responsible for managing the maintenance and support of custom IT applications within the SRE Portfolio. The ideal candidate should have strong technical knowledge, analytical skills, good communication, and previous support experience in managing support and management projects. Leadership experience and a solid understanding of Incident and Problem management are essential. Candidate must be located within commuting distance of
Overland Park, Kansas or Bellevue, WA
or be willing to relocate. The role may require travel to project locations. Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent; three years of progressive experience in the field can substitute for each year of education. Minimum 11 years of IT experience. SRE mindset in production support: proactive issue detection using observability tools. Proficiency with monitoring & observability tools (e.g., Splunk, AppDynamics). Incident commander experience: diagnosing complex issues and leading incident calls with technical teams and Tier 2 SREs. Experience with Splunk (including APM and O11y), AppDynamics, databases, networks, Linux/Unix, Kubernetes. Experience with APM, NMON, Wireshark analysis. Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of Grafana, RedMetrics, 1000Eyes. Understanding of VMs, load balancers, firewalls, API gateways. Experience with containerization (Docker), cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure), and ServiceNow (including AIOps). Familiarity with UEM, synthetic monitoring, and system administration (Kubernetes, Linux). Networking knowledge: protocols, configurations, troubleshooting. Cloud architecture understanding: on-premises and public cloud services. Application management, CI/CD tools, and programming skills (Java, Python). Database troubleshooting (Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, MongoDB, Cassandra). Monitoring tools expertise for backend systems, databases, and APIs. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact with senior leadership. Flexibility to work in rotation and handle changing priorities. Estimated annual compensation for Bellevue, WA: $114K - $166K.
