SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS SUMMARY This recruitment will remain active for a period of one year, from the position opening date. If there is no longer a need to fill, the position may be closed sooner, and applicants will be notified. This is a continuous recruitment to fill part-time, and temporary faculty assignments on an as-needed basis. When the need to fill arises, the department will refer to this pool of part-time faculty. Due to the high volume of applications received, we ask that you do not contact the department directly. They will review the information provided and contact you if you are selected for an interview. Possession of the minimum qualifications does not guarantee an interview. Also note that you must upload your resume and transcripts. Applications submitted without all of the required documents will not be considered. Evidence of degree conferred/awarded must be printed on a legible transcript. The minimum required number of references for this position is one (1). The candidate selected for employment will be required to provide the following: official transcripts and verification of experience prior to the first duty day, identification and employment eligibility as outlined in the Immigration Reform and Control Act, fingerprints and required medical certification pursuant to statute. JOB DESCRIPTION May be asked to teach days, evenings, hybrid/online and in the dual enrollment program. Online/hybrid teaching requires additional campus-based training. Minimum Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Any Bachelor’s degree or higher AND two years of professional experience directly related to the faculty’s teaching assignment; OR Any Associate degree AND six years of professional experience directly related to the faculty member’s teaching assignment; OR Possess a valid California teaching credential authorizing service in a community college in the appropriate subject matter area; Commitment to diversity. All applicants must have demonstrated sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students, faculty and staff. The applicant must be able to demonstrate how these factors relate to the need for equity minded practices within the classroom. Desirable Qualifications
