We are seeking an enthusiastic Software Engineer for our TV platforms, specializing in native application development. The role involves developing and maintaining VIZIO’s core operating environment, contributing to embedded UI/UX development, and implementing complex features to improve user experience. You will work closely with product management to understand and extend features, develop using modern JavaScript, and integrate third-party apps. Additionally, you will develop tools to support larger development communities within VIZIO. A proven track record of shipping high-quality software on embedded platforms is essential. This role offers high visibility and direct impact on millions of users, ideal for an innovative and experienced professional. Our team is based in Dallas, TX, working in-office five days a week.
What you'll do... Responsibilities include requirements analysis, solution design, coding, testing, program monitoring, defect management, troubleshooting, and DevOps orientation. You will also demonstrate leadership by fostering a respectful, ethical, and customer-focused environment, and by promoting continuous improvement and innovation.
Minimum Qualifications...
Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or related field plus 4 years’ experience in software engineering, or
6 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.
Preferred Qualifications...
Master’s degree in relevant fields with 2 years' experience, or
Experience creating accessible digital experiences, knowledge of WCAG 2.2 AA standards, assistive technologies, and inclusive design practices.
