The Engineering Services Department consists of five separate sections: Capital Management, Environmental Programs, Land Development, Rancho Cucamonga Municipal Utility, and Transportation, with a total of forty-one (41) staff spanning various roles. From its earliest days, the City of Rancho Cucamonga was dubbed the "City with a Plan" and over the past forty years, we have been creating a World Class Community. Engineering plays a vital role in this vision by designing and maintaining the built environment, ensuring sustainability, and providing reliable utility services. You'll be responsible for: Assisting with budget preparation, analysis, and ongoing management of the departments five sections. Preparing the Citys annual Capital Improvement Project (CIP) budget document. Processing invoices, credit card statements, and reconciling transactions. Managing contracts and procurement of supplies and equipment. Submitting purchase requisitions and supplemental purchase orders. Preparing reports, memorandums, and administrative materials. Compiling data for reports, presentations, and performance measures. Supporting capital projects and project managers administratively. Assisting with grant applications, tracking expenditures, and reporting. Inputting and editing data in financial software modules. Contributing to the compilation of annual budget documents. Responding to inquiries and providing technical and administrative support. Reporting directly to the Deputy Director of Engineering Services Utilities. Any combination of education and/or experience that provides the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities, such as five years of responsible clerical, technical, or administrative experience, including or supplemented by college-level training in public administration, accounting, data processing, or related fields. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of research methods, statistical analysis, report preparation, budget procedures, office procedures, and departmental functions. Ability to perform technical tasks, operate a computer, conduct research, analyze data, interpret laws/regulations, work independently, and communicate effectively. Special Requirements:
