KPMG is seeking a Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) Engineer to join our Digital Nexus technology organization. This is a hybrid work opportunity. Responsibilities:
Work closely with internal virtualization operations and engineering teams to gather requirements, build, and deploy appropriate tools; provide technical leadership in the development, integration, and testing of the VDI environment supporting multiple locations and virtual desktop pools. Contribute to the overall technology plan, ensuring effective integration with network security infrastructure; collaborate with various technology teams and vendors. Design, upgrade, test, and modify the VDI environment based on capacity needs; troubleshoot system and network issues; stay updated on industry trends; deliver projects on schedule and with quality. Provide expert advice, ensure adherence to product development processes, meet performance and budget targets, and support operations through root cause and preventative analysis. Build configuration management, automation, inventory, resource management, and self-service tools; train team members. Qualifications:
Minimum seven years of recent experience in virtualization design and engineering, managing large-scale projects and automation; experience with cloud-hosted VDI solutions required. Bachelor's degree preferred. Skills in Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops, Citrix DaaS, Citrix NetScaler / ADC / VPX, Citrix Gateway, Citrix App Layering, Citrix XenServer, VMWare ESXi. Strong understanding of multi-site non-persistent and persistent VDI environments, networking equipment (switches, firewalls, proxies). Proficiency in PowerShell scripting; capable of creating technical documentation; support for designing new environments. Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future.
