Duration: 1 year with possible extension Years of Experience: 8 or more years of experience in the field Objective: Hire one resource responsible for installation, configuration, and maintenance of open-source software applications. The software may include relational databases, web servers, and middleware applications that transform data or perform searches. The focus will be on development tasks to support and maintain applications. Responsibilities: Install and configure software tools in containers (Red Hat OpenShift) or Linux environments, collaborating with CLIENT server teams in virtual environments. Install, configure, and troubleshoot software, including customized solutions for the State. Coordinate with CLIENT subject matter experts to allocate containers for application deployment, install applications in containers, and troubleshoot issues. Troubleshoot application issues such as outages, performance problems, and communication failures. Apply patches to address security issues and assess the impact of upgrades. Develop and maintain Elixir microservices for data ingestion and transformation within a microservices architecture. Integrate applications with object stores supporting the S3 standard for data persistence. Assist agency business users with operation of installed software, including user account provisioning and troubleshooting SSO issues. Create change logs or notes documenting support and development activities. Support team members, vendors, and others with various tasks as needed.
Qualifications: Experience with application deployment within containers, specifically Red Hat OpenShift, and current experience with Kubernetes (2+ years). Experience with web application development, with an interest in expanding skills in Elixir and ReactJS. Experience with other functional languages like Scala, Haskell, or Clojure is helpful if no Elixir experience (2+ years). Experience installing and configuring open-source SQL databases such as PostgreSQL, troubleshooting database connections, and performing backups.
