This position combines strategic growth initiatives with operational excellence, ensuring CPL remains an industry leader. Key responsibilities include business development in San Diego and Riverside Counties, project management, quality control, and field support, with a strong emphasis on expanding our customer base and strengthening industry relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
Business Development & Growth Develop and execute strategies to expand the utility department and market presence. Attend trade shows, industry conferences, and association events to build connections and generate leads. Identify, pursue, and establish relationships with potential new customers. Maintain and strengthen relationships with existing clients to ensure long-term partnerships. Stay up to date on industry trends, utility equipment, GPS mapping tools, and software advancements to improve deliverables and maintain CPLs leadership. Utility Department Leadership and Innovation: Ensure compliance by staying current with required certifications and training. Oversee bidding processes to ensure competitive and accurate proposals. Maintain technician credentials, including badging, waivers, fingerprinting, and other necessary documentation for site access. Develop and manage project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation to meet customer needs efficiently. Field Work & Support: Assist in the field during peak times or when additional help is needed. Learn the basics of leak detection to provide support and oversight as required. Work closely with technicians to understand field challenges and drive operational improvements. Quality Control: Enforce proper safety procedures for technicians. Conduct regular job site visits to inspect work quality and compliance with company standards. Ensure the cleanliness and professional appearance of technicians, equipment, and vehicles. Organize and lead safety meetings with technicians. Team Leadership and Development: Build and manage high-performing teams across utility operations. Promote a culture of collaboration, accountability, and innovation within the organization. Mentor and guide employees to achieve professional growth and drive organizational success. Qualifications:
5+ years of experience in senior leadership roles, particularly within the utility, construction, or industrial sectors. Demonstrated success in driving growth, innovation, and market expansion. Strong expertise in utility department operations, including managing and implementing advanced technologies. Proven ability to lead teams and foster a culture of accountability and excellence. Exceptional communication, relationship-building, and negotiation skills. A results-oriented mindset with a focus on delivering measurable outcomes. What We Offer:
